Radical Access launched in full in 2022, beginning a ten-year social change project in partnership with Arts Access Victoria that imagines a radical version of best practice accessibility for the independent arts sector and moves the conversation beyond the provision of access services into cultural equity.

Reframing Disability: Music accessibility for d/Deaf people

The India Inclusion Summit invites the best musicians in the country to perform at the Summit. To make the music accessible to the deaf community, Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpreters take a prominent spot on the stage as well on the huge display monitors across the venue, signing the lyrics and the beats.

The O2 is the first UK arena to achieve ‘Platinum’ accessibility status with Attitude is Everything

The O2 has announced that it has been awarded Platinum status by disability charity Attitude is Everything, in recognition of the venue’s commitment to improving accessibility for disabled fans, artists, and staff. A proud and longstanding advocate for improved accessibility in music and live event venues, The O2 is the first UK arena to achieve Platinum status, having previously been the first UK arena to achieve Gold status back in 2013.

Hasvat Informant's push for dance music accessibility

Mike Bkyth, aka Hasvat Informant is a Naarm/Melbourne-based DJ & producer, known for releases across labels like Amniote Editions, Mama Told Ya and Blue Hour, with a recent tour to Europe seeing him perform at Berghain, Mala Junta, Club Raum and many more. Mike is part of a new wave of techno influencing scenes around the world, who has been a crucial part of Naarm’s scene since he was old enough to drink. He became a paraplegic at 18, and uses a wheelchair.

"Crip Arte Spazio: The Disability Arts Movement in Venice" is an exhibit that focuses on the UK Disability Arts Movement (DAM)—its history and its contemporary progeny. The exhibit is curated by David Hevey, the CEO of Shape Arts, the UK disability-led arts organization and producer of "DAM in Venice."
